Day-2: Rest Day with Anime + Little bit DSA progress
Introduction
In this blog series, I document my feelings, thoughts, experiences & learnings from my daily life.
Today was a bit different from what I planned, but that's okay...
Since I've decided to be transparent about everything, I'll say the truth: I enjoyed a Rest Day today.π₯²
Let me walk you through how my day unfolded.
---
Morning: A Late Start
I worked pretty hard yesterday & slept very late (~4 am), so my original plans of waking up by 9/10 am got messed up. Here's how my morning went:
- Woke up: 10:40/45 am
- Got ready: By 12:30-ish (I spend extra time on Sundays for grooming & personal hygiene π«§)
- Brunch: 1:15 pm
After brunch, I planned again and made up a huge list of tasks that I needed to accomplish today.

Afternoon: DSA Progress
I started with studying DSA (Data Structures & Algorithms), specifically the pattern of Matrix Chain Multiplication in Dynamic Programming.
This topic is quite challenging but fascinating. The MCM problem involves finding the most efficient way to multiply a chain of matrices, which requires understanding optimal substructure and overlapping subproblems. I worked through:
- Understanding the recursive approach
- Identifying the optimal substructure
- Setting up the base cases
I made some good progress in my course, after which I had lunch. My schedule was already pretty late from my normal routine, but I was determined to keep learning.

Evening: Anime Break & Family Time
After lunch, I studied for a little while, then decided to take a break for 30-60 mins.
I watched an episode of Spy X Family S3, the episode was nice, but I've realized I prefer watching anime in continuous blocks rather than weekly episodes. It kind of reduces the joy/impact of the story when watched in fragments.
Then I watched Dr Stone Season 4 Part 2, I ended up watching all the remaining episodes till the end (watch time: ~2.5 hrs). The science concepts and the storytelling really drew me in!
It's amazing how anime can make complex scientific ideas so engaging and entertaining.
Especially the plot twists and writing was literally on π₯π₯π₯!!
Do give it a shot if you're a Science enthusiast. The starting seasons are a bit slow paced, but the story in its entirety is pretty unique and interesting! π―π―
After my anime session:
- Took a break and prayed for some time
- Spent quality time with our Maternal Grandfather (Nana Ji) who came to visit our place today
- Went outside to drop him at his residence
- Upon returning, relaxed a bit more and planned what to do next to utilize the remaining time

## Night: Back to DSA
After dinner, I continued with DSA, working on:
- MCM Memoization(top-down approach)
- MCM Tabulation (bottom-up approach)
(with a little bit of anime break in between)
I finished the MCM topic by 1:30 am. Understanding both approaches really solidified my grasp of dynamic programming concepts. The key was recognizing how memoization stores computed results to avoid redundant calculations, while tabulation builds the solution iteratively.

Reflections & Commitments
Now I'm writing this blog, then I'll shoot one video – probably a talking head format, trying out a new style.
Key Takeaway: A little bit of restrained/controlled relax-downtime is also important for higher productivity over the week. Rest days aren't failures, they're investments in sustained performance! π
This is my promise to myself and all of you readers:
- I'll try my best throughout the week πͺπ»π¨π»π»π―
- No anime binge-watching (during work days)
- Only focused efforts for my goals!

Tomorrow's Plan
For Day-3, I'm planning to:
- Wake up at a reasonable time (9 am target!)
- Continue with the next DSA pattern
- Work on my video content
- Maintain a more structured schedule
I hope you enjoyed reading today's blog! That's it for today.
I'll see you again tomorrow! π―πͺ΄
